Power of attorney and healthcare wishes
Pick the people who can speak for you, before you ever need them to. For your money, and for your healthcare.
In plain words
A durable power of attorney puts your trusted person in charge of your money or bills if there ever comes a day you can't handle them yourself. An advance healthcare directive (sometimes called a living will or healthcare proxy) tells your doctors and your family what kind of medical care you want, and names someone to make those decisions if you can't speak. These go alongside your will or trust to round out your plan. I prepare the papers based on what you tell me. I'm not an attorney, so I can't tell you which one to pick.
This might be a fit if…
- You want someone you trust to handle your money if something happens
- You want to name who makes healthcare decisions if you can't
- You want to write down what kind of medical care you do or don't want
- A surgery or hospital stay is coming up and you want things in order
- You just made a will or trust and want to finish the planning
- Your old power of attorney or healthcare directive needs to be updated
How I help
- Prepare a durable power of attorney for your finances
- Prepare an advance healthcare directive and POLST forms

- Lay everything out neatly, ready to sign and notarize
- Read every page with you before you sign

One honest note
I'm a registered Legal Document Assistant, not an attorney. I can't give you legal advice, pick documents for you, or speak for you in court. What I can do is prepare your paperwork based on what you tell me. If your situation needs legal advice, please talk to an attorney — I'll tell you straight if I think that's the right call.
